Ancient Words

Key Verses

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Ps. 119:105).

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work” (2 Tim. 3:16-17).

Purpose and Aim of the Theme

Our theme for 2025 recalls a great old hymn of praise, where we find this great message:

“Holy words long preserved for our walk in this world; they resound with God’s own heart; O let the ancient words impart… Ancient words, ever true, changing me and changing you. We have come with open hearts; O let the ancient words impart.”

We respect and love the Bible because, as Paul wrote, it is inspired of God. It is God’s message to mankind. As such, the ancient words provide all the guidance we need to walk life’s pathway and to do God’s work. We anticipate the opportunity to reflect upon the significance of this great treasure.

Sermons on the Theme

Each month we will share a lesson on the theme. We pray these lessons will help us as we grow in our love for the precious book divine. Let’s use these opportunities to invite others to learn about the Lord, his holy word, and his people.
